Remarks
- Graduate students of this institute must complete at least 24 credits to graduate. Credits from "Cadre Preparatory Education Courses" and "Cadre Education Courses" do not count towards the graduate graduation credits. Study Period: 2 to 4 years for full-time students; 5 semesters to 4 years for part-time in-service students; 3 to 4 years for general full-time students.
- For the Methodology category, students may choose one of "Selected Readings in English Monographs", "Selected Readings in Japanese Monographs", or "Selected Readings in German Monographs", taking 2 credits per semester, up to a maximum of 4 credits.
- Study Regulations for Master's Students of This Institute:
- Police Law Research Specialization: Within the study period, students must take at least one course from the Legal Methodology or Methodology category, Administrative Law & Police Law category, and Criminal Law category. Students may cross-register for courses in the Police Administration, Public Policy, and Administrative Methodology categories, provided that cross-registered credits do not exceed one-third of the total graduation credits.
- Police Administration Research Specialization: Within the study period, students must take at least one course from the Administrative Methodology or Methodology category, Police Administration category, and Public Policy category. Students may cross-register for courses in the Legal Methodology, Administrative Law & Police Law, and Criminal Law categories, provided that cross-registered credits do not exceed one-third of the total graduation credits.
- If, prior to the start of their first semester, a student's research direction outlined in their admission exam proposal leans towards the Police Law field, they may submit an application. Upon approval by the Department Affairs Meeting, they may change their course category to the Police Law Research Specialization.
- Maximum and Minimum Credit Limits per Category:
- Full-time in-service graduate students: A minimum of 8 credits per semester in the first academic year; a minimum of 4 credits in the first semester and 2 credits in the second semester of the second academic year. There is no maximum limit for any semester.
- Cross-institute course selection: If required by their degree thesis research direction, graduate students may select courses from other institutes with the approval of the Director. Students must first fulfill the minimum credit requirements of this institute for the respective semester before taking cross-institute credits.
- Full-time general graduate students: General students who have not received foundational education at Central Police University must undergo "Cadre Preparatory Education"; they must pass both academic and practical subjects to be eligible for graduation.
- In the first academic year, students undergo the university's "Cadre Preparatory Education".
- In the second academic year, a minimum of 8 credits per semester, with no maximum limit.
- In the third academic year, a minimum of 4 credits in the first semester and 2 credits in the second semester, with no maximum limit.
- Elective courses require a minimum of 4 enrolled students to be offered.
