📜 Graduation Requirements & Regulations /
- English Proficiency Requirement for Graduation:
According to the resolution of the university's meeting on October 30, 2023, regarding the "Review of the University's Special Examination System and Adjustment of Institutional Common Compulsory Courses," the English proficiency requirements for graduation from the undergraduate programs starting from the 2024 academic year are established as follows:- Four-Year Undergraduate Program: Must reach the Intermediate level (including both Listening and Reading components) of the English proficiency test.
- Two-Year Undergraduate Program: Must reach the Elementary level (including both Listening and Reading components) of the English proficiency test.
Students must pass the elementary level threshold equivalent to the General English Proficiency Test (GEPT) (Listening and Reading) after enrollment and before graduation to qualify for graduation. Students who fail to pass by the end of the 2nd semester may take remedial courses starting from the 3rd semester. (This includes relevant English courses offered by the General Education Center, which must be completed by the end of the 3rd semester, or participating in the English program of the university's sister schools' study abroad tours).
- Institutional Common Compulsory Courses: 6 credits.
- Departmental Professional Compulsory Courses: 52 credits.
- Departmental Professional Elective Courses: A minimum total of 16 credits is required. (Credits from elective courses taken in other departments or from cross-selected foreign language courses will not be counted toward the professional electives of this department).
- Minimum Total Credits for Graduation: 74 credits.
- To comply with the Enforcement Rules of the University Act and CPU's Academic Regulations—which state that "in principle, 1 credit is awarded for every 18 hours of instruction"—the "Principles for Grade Settlement of Graduating Undergraduate Students and Student Course Selection" are implemented as follows:
- Graduating Class Students: May not select courses offered for non-graduating classes during the 4th semester.
- Non-Graduating Class Students: Those who select courses from the 4th semester of graduating classes must comply with make-up classes; those who cannot accommodate make-up classes are not allowed to select such courses.
- Note 1: Includes "Production of Various Types of Police Official Documents and Plans."
- Note 2: Includes "Duty of Testifying/Court Testimony."
- Note 3: Includes "Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence."
